Aegis Data has appointed Spreckley as its retained PR agency in the UK, as part of an aggressive growth strategy designed to capitalise on increased demand for colocation services.
Aegis, a provider of secure data centre environments, recently appointed Greg McCulloch, the former COO of DigiPlex and MD of Interxion (UK), to the position of CEO. McCulloch joins Aegis with over 19 years of business and data centre expertise across Europe and Scandinavia. He is focused on accelerating the growth of the company, as well challenging the ways in which data centre and colocation services are provided for customers.
As part of this move, Spreckley was appointed to execute a comprehensive PR programme, which will position Aegis as a leading expert and thought leader within the colocation industry and the vertical markets in which it serves.
Spreckley has a longstanding history in supporting and delivering content driven campaigns for data centre organisations, aimed at bringing to light critical issues around storage, security and connectivity, which impact data centre operators and its customers. In doing so, Spreckley will aim to gain visibility, raise awareness and ultimately help assist in growing the reputation of the Aegis business.
McCulloch commented: “The growth in data volumes coupled, with a need for businesses to refresh existing legacy IT systems, is playing a big role in organisations turning to colocation providers like Aegis Data in order to support their IT capabilities. As a market it is incredibly competitive and in order to stay ahead, it is imperative that we have an effective communications plan in place, which enables us to not only demonstrate the strength of our offering, but also our understanding of critical issues impacting customers – this is why we decided to turn to Spreckley.”
Richard Merrin, Managing Director of Spreckley commented on the agency’s appointment: “The colocation industry is really flourishing at the moment, presenting exciting opportunities for those operating within this space. Aegis Data is a prime example of a colocation provider keen to capitalise on this momentum and build a reputation for itself as an innovative thought leader, striving to address ever growing demands for greater IT efficiencies.”
