Christian Stevens, Account Executive

What’s been the most exciting PR campaign you’ve worked on and why?

I think all campaigns and accounts can be exciting. Recent examples I can think of include supporting ActiveOps with a livestream broadcast interview, creating and launching a cybersecurity whitepaper and working with global brand Asus to launch its new smartphone in the UK.

What do you enjoy the most about working at Spreckley?

It’s great working with a team of smart people who can bring their unique skills and experiences together to help secure top tier coverage and create fantastic PR and marketing campaigns for all our clients. I think the variation in our clients’ products and services makes every day interesting.

How did you hear about Spreckley and why did you want to join?

I was doing PR and marketing in-house at a tech startup and although I enjoyed it, I was keen to learn about different sectors. I realised that an agency was the best way of getting this experience and reached out to a few recruiters in London. They came back with a few opportunities in London and I thought Spreckley was the best agency from the selection.

If you weren’t in PR, what would you be doing instead?

I studied literature and journalism and I am really into films, comics, books and music, so maybe writing for the culture section of a magazine.

Tell us one thing about you that surprises people?

I believe in aliens and all kinds of weird conspiracy theories. Not the flat earth stuff though…

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

I guess it would have to be time travel – it would be amazing to experience the contrast between the ancient past and the distant future of our planet.

What do you spend too much money on but you don’t regret?

Food… I have a fast metabolism and eat everything… except insects and offal… Although I do try to eat less meat now, for health and sustainability reasons.

What do you collect, and why?

Comic books, because – along with music – they are the purest, most versatile and entertaining medium which combines techniques from art and literature to create something new. As Harvey Pekar said: “Comics are words and pictures. You can do anything with words and pictures.”
