Spreckley launches Gridstore in the UK

Established US software-defined storage provider, Gridstore, has kicked off its entry into the UK market with a PR campaign created and managed by Spreckley. The PR agency has been appointed by Gridstore to raise the company’s profile in the UK IT channel, and introduce its storage technology to the market with a full and ongoing media and analyst relations programme.

Spreckley has a long-standing and firmly established history in the B2B storage market both in the UK and globally, having worked with brands such as Legato, LSI, WHIPTAIL (now Cisco) and SMART Storage Systems.

Douglas Gruehl, VP, Corporate Marketing and Communications, Gridstore commented: “Over the past five years Gridstore has focused firmly on building its leadership position in software-defined storage in the US market. The time is right for the company to extend its footprint by moving into the European market, with the UK being its primary objective. We dream big, and with Spreckley at the helm of our PR programme, we aim to sit among the leaders in the UK providing bestselling storage technology to the channel.”

Gridstore’s software-defined storage optimised for the Microsoft Windows architecture has been lauded by the US IT channel and end users alike for its ability to eliminate the Input/Output (I/O) blender effect, a phenomenon that can degrade the storage performance of virtual machines significantly. Gridstore virtualises the traditional storage controller by creating virtual storage stacks, which organise and optimise the data that moves between virtual machines and servers, thus ensuring no lag and no downtime when it comes to storage performance.

Richard Merrin, Managing Director of Spreckley added: “We have successfully launched many US-based companies in the UK over the past 15 years and Gridstore is the latest to join our roster. The company’s management team has a heritage in tech start-ups and that is hugely exciting for us and is already resonating with the UK channel and analyst communities. We have worked with the team historically and are delighted that they have shown such faith in us as an agency that they have come back!”
