After last year’s high-energy debut saw five PR agencies battle it out in a five-a-side face-off — raising over £2,500 for homelessness charity Providence Row — the MarComms Cup is back, and this time it’s Agencies vs Industry.
Driven by the phenomenal team at Spreckley PR, the 2024 tournament brought together top agencies including Ready10, Catalyst Creative, Rostrum PR, and Flame PR for an unforgettable day of football, fundraising, and friendly rivalry.
Now in its second year, the MarComms Cup 2025 is stepping up: welcoming new client-side corporate teams to take on returning PR challengers in a bid to raise even more funds — and settle who really owns the pitch.
The tournament will once again take place at Power League, Shepherd’s Bush, on Friday 15th August.
Michael Blakesley, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Providence Row, commented: “Spreckley PR were the beating heart of this event from day one. Their energy, belief, and leadership made the first tournament possible — and laid the foundation for something that could grow into a yearly industry staple. We can’t thank them enough.”
Richard Merrin, CEO, Spreckley PR, commented: “Last year’s inaugural MarComms cup was a lot of fun, and we look forward to taking on agencies and clients alike this coming August. And, most importantly, to helping Providence Row make this year’s tournament even bigger and better to raise money for all the great work done by London’s oldest homeless charity.”
Last year’s champions Ready10 lifted the trophy after a nail-biting final against Rostrum PR, while Spreckley added unforgettable moments both on and off the pitch — even sending two brave players to A&E! It was a day of heart, grit, and community.
This year promises all that and more. Whether you’re an agency defending your turf or a client team ready to bring the heat, the pitch is calling.
