Bringing software development to the forefront with STX Next

The client

STX Next is the largest software house in Europe specialising in the Python programming language. The company has been operating since 2005 and works with over 500 people across seven offices in Poland. Its customers include leading international corporations, SMEs and a range of innovative start-ups from around the world. STX Next’s mission is to design and create digital solutions that showcase the power of Python, and make a major difference to how client businesses operate.

The goals

STX Next approached Spreckley in October 2020 to help raise its media profile in the UK market. Although based in Poland, British companies make up much of the company’s customer base, so STX Next wanted to grow its presence further in a key target market.

The solution

Spreckley immediately got to work on a thought leadership programme to increase STX Next’s visibility in UK media. A crucial early objective of the campaign was to leverage the company’s Global CTO Survey, which was released for the first time in 2020. Tactics included:

  • Press releases aimed at technology, cybersecurity and business press to announce the results of the CTO Survey, followed by a regular programme of press releases throughout 2021
  • Thought leadership content building on the initial success of the CTO Survey, engaging with a number of key tech topics and debates to elevate STX Next’s voice in the media
  • Regular briefings with subject matter experts at STX Next to maintain freshness in our thought leadership content

The achievements

Spreckley successfully elevated STX Next from a company with almost no media footprint to one of the dominant voices against its key competitors.

Coverage secured

90 pieces of coverage between October 2020 and the end of 2021, with key titles including Computing, ITProPortal, Infosecurity, Dark Reading and Information Age.

#1 share of voice

Achieving first place in share of voice against 11 key competitors between October 2020 and the end of 2021, occupying 52% of the share in December 2021.

Web traffic increase

Directly contributing towards increases in web traffic to STX Next’s website by securing coverage in leading tech titles and monitoring Dofollow links.
