Positioning the Cloud Industry Forum as the leading voice in the UK Cloud sector

The Client

CLOUD INDUSTRY FORUM

The Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, and is an industry body that champions and advocates the adoption and use of Cloud-based Services by both businesses, and individuals.

The Goals

Through a retained PR programme with Spreckley since its inception, CIF aims to educate, inform, and represent Cloud service users, providers, resellers, systems integrators and standards organisations. It was also launching the first UK Cloud Awards in conjunction with Dennis Publishing, and so required a vendor, user and media engagement programme to drive awareness and ultimately entries.

Achievements

Spreckley played an integral role in not only promoting the awards, but also in the logistics of the scheme and the awards ceremony.

Awards guidance

Other duties included advice on judging panel, guidance and support on award categories, promoting sponsorship partners – including Microsoft, Ingram Micro and Outsourcery – venue identification, logo and White Paper design and also social media support.

Award campaign

Critical to the promotion of the awards was a specific campaign devised by Spreckley targeting the UK PR industry, with a strategy designed to excite agencies and get them engaged with their clients in turn.

UK Cloud Award entries

Over 200 entries were entered in year one of the UK Cloud Awards, with winner announced at a special event held at London City Hall to coincide with Cloud Expo Europe in February 2014.
